Blitzkrieg des Blutengels

Well here goes my first attempt/imminent fail at writing a pair of scalable lists for Blood Angels Mechanized fun at 1750 and 2000 points. The lists aren't completely done yet, as you'll see by some wonky remaining points totals that I just can't seem to spend.
Thanks for the comments and assistance earlier today, the advice was helpful in pulling my head out of my ass.

Blitzkrieg 1750
HQ
Librarian Shields of Sanguinis; Blood Lance 100

EliteSanguinary Priest x2 100

TroopsAssault Squad Infernus Pistol, Melta 125

Heavy Support
Predator Autocannon, Lascannon sponsons 135

Total 1740

Tactics are pretty easy with this one. Librarian goes in one assault squad, while the priests go in two of the others. Line up everybody with the Predators giving cover to the Razorbacks. Rush forward, blow shit up, and mop up. Came out with ten points remaining, so I should probably just give melta bombs to the priests.

The tactics for this change slightly, with the increased killing power in the list. Instead of full on rushing forward, turn 1 would be a 6" move to allow everyone to unleash the fury (assuming opponent is deployed at all). Spend the next few turns rushing towards objectives and flamestorming the everloving shit out of anybody who isn't in a transport anymore. Priests and Librarians go into one squad each. Then run 1 priest squad near 1 Librarian squad to overlap FNP onto every unit. Came up 40 points Short on this one. Giving Melta bombs to all characters and sergeants would eat this up easily, unless there's something better I could do with those points.

So, have at it. Is this workable? Is this the worst thing ever? Did I just battleforce myself into a corner by wanting to take 6 predators? Any feedback is feedback.

There is no spoon.

No, overall I like the list. Only thing is, I'm not sold on 6 Predators all having Sponsons. Makes Castling difficult, and firing even more so.

Agreed, the spatial/LOS issues will be interesting to see on the tabletop. Unfortunately that's where I'll really have to test them, as I don't think Vassal will give a realistic look at them (also, what the fuck is up with the size of the landspeeder sprites?).

Anybody have an opinion on whether I should scrounge for points (AKA drop a pred or an ass squad) for HK missiles at 1750? What are your opinions on the infernus pistol- is the range too short? SHould I use hand flamers instead (man that sounds awkward)?

The Infernus is a nice bonus - it should not be seen as vital to your game plan. that said, I haven't had a chance to playtest BA at all yet, I'm TheoryHammering.

I'm just exceptionally good at it. ;)

While I'm not personally a huge fan of Predator spam BA armies, I'll do my best to be of some assistance.

First thing is that, unless I'm misunderstanding the codex somehow, you have the points costs for the razorbacks wrong. To my math assault squads get the las/plas razor for 55pts, not 50.

The second thing is that the Priests really don't suit the list in my opinion since with this style of list you really aren't planning to disembark unless you have to melta something (Which is problematic to begin with since it means you'll have to use scoring units to suicide melta AV14).

With the points you save you might as well buy 9 Hunter Killer missiles and effectively get your 2k list at 1750 minus the extra, wasted IMHO, libbie.

For 2k i'd probably add a 5th razorback squad and go to the full 11 HKs, this leaves you at 1950 but I honestly can't think of any vaguely useful use for the last 50 pts in that list.

Honestly, I think the fundamental weakness of this style of list built out of the BA codex comes from Baal's precluding speeders and shooty Dreads competing for heavy support slots. So yay you have 6 predators but now you can't get mm/hf speeders to deal with AV14 and you can't take Dakka preds because it leaves you with woefully inadequate long range shooting, and you can't take Dreads because you need the av13 and the lascannons so you end up with this.
